Our Program:
Flourish Wellness Collective’s Intern Program allows us to:
Reach more clients
Offer deeply discounted sliding scale therapy services
Assist students in becoming competent and informed professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, and social workers
The program also provides opportunities for new clinicians to build soft-skills in the areas of time-management, rapport building, marketing of personal services, recognition of personal strengths, leadership, effective communication, adaptability, self-awareness, patience, and self-care.
Our Current Interns
Karis Rozof (she/her)

Trauma Recovery: Supporting clients in processing and healing from various forms of trauma.
Addiction Recovery: Assisting individuals in overcoming substance abuse and behavioral addictions.
Couples Therapy: Helping partners improve communication, resolve conflicts and strengthen their relationships.
Enneagram: Utilizing this personality typing system to enhance self-awareness and personal growth in clients.
Internal Family Systems (IFS): Applying this integrative approach to help clients understand and harmonzie different aspects of their psyche.

Karis is a student therapist working on her Master's Degree in Social Work at Fort Hays State University.
Karis received her Bachelors in Social Work from Wichita State University and is also a licensed Massage Therapist.

Karis brings experience in substance use and addiction recovery, advocacy for survivors of sexual assault, and trauma-informed somatic healing therapy. She is also well-versed in the Enneagram and Hellenistic Astrology. She has dedicated significant time to studying various methods of understanding the human experience. Karis aims to utilize this knowledge to foster a safe and collaborative environment for healing. Passionate about supporting marginalized communities, she proudly stands as an ally to LGBTQIA+ individuals. With a kink-informed perspective, she advocates for all consensual and loving relationships. Karis employs a validating, nonjudgmental, and collaborative approach to build genuine connections.

Lauren Gilley (she/her)

Couples Counseling: Supporting partners through all life stages by focusing on effective communication, conflict resolution, and fostering strong, safe connections.
Sexual Wellness: Helping individuals and couples achieve a healthy and fulfilling sex life by addressing sexual shame, dysfunction, trauma, desires, and more.
Perinatal Mental Health: Supporting mothers from conception through postpartum, including infertility, pregnancy anxiety, and postpartum depression. Empowering women to cope with challenges and embrace their strengths.
Self-Worth and Empowerment: Helping individuals discover their true identity, cultivate genuine self-worth, and grow into their best selves with confidence and pride.
Life Transitions: Providing support through career changes, loss, relationship shifts, family struggles, and other challenges to help navigate and process change effectively.

Lauren is currently finishing up her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wichita State University and will graduate in May 2025. Lauren previously earned her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Wichita State University.

Lauren is passionate about meeting clients where they are with empathy and non-judgement. Each client is seen as a unique individual with different specific needs. Lauren feels confident in her experience counseling survivors of trauma, infertility, anxiety, depression, ADHD, loss, life changes, and self-worth. Lauren is motivated to work with couples to help them form healthy communication and mutual understanding. She has participated in ongoing learning focused around sexual wellness, wanting to work towards a certification in Sex Therapy in the future. Lauren is also participating in trainings on Perinatal Mental Health. Welcoming of all people, Lauren is excited to help others become the best and most authentic version of themselves.

Stacy Bain (she/her)

Grief & Loss: Providing support to the client wherever they are in their grief and/or loss with empathy.
Trauma: Helping clients navigate the short and long term outcomes after suffering from traumatic experiences.
Depression & Anxiety: Using holistic approaches to identify and greet the emotions related to the symptoms of depression and anxiety and learning healthy alternatives to cope and self-soothe.
Women’s Mental Health: Assisting women of all ages to enhance their self-awareness and personal growth through their current (and challenging) phases of life.

Set to complete Master’s of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wichita State University in May 2025.
Received Bachelor’s of General Studies in Psychology and Minor in Sociology from the University of Kansas along with an Associate of Art in Journalism/Marketing from Hutchinson Community College.

Stacy’s biggest attribute to counseling is understanding clients do not show up with linear experiences or needs, and prides her counseling work on meeting clients of all ages and genders where they are in a safe, non-judgmental space. Stacy has experience in counseling those with loss of identity/self, depression/anxiety, survivors of trauma, LGBTQIA+ support/ally for the community, grief and loss, caregivers, the aging population, and ADHD along with experience in counseling families, couples, and groups. Stacy is a supporter and advocate of women’s rights; she understands the devastation after miscarriages and difficult emotions that follow post-abortion.

Internship is a rite of passage for ALL helping & medical professions. Our interns are graduate students currently enrolled in accredited programs including Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work. Interns have finished- or are about to finish- all required coursework from their graduate programs, and are working towards completing internship hours so that they can pursue licensure in a mental health field.

Absolutely. Interns have or are working to complete their coursework to receive their Masters degree in social work, counseling or marriage and family therapy and are now working to implement what they have learned. Many interns have previous experience in the field and are going through training to become licensed to practice independently as a therapist.

Aside from the reduced rate, there are some strong positives of working with an intern:
Smaller caseload means more focus on your needs.
A different kind of energy and enthusiasm than someone who’s been in the field for several years.
They are actively studying the most recent developments in mental health, social work, and psychology.
Interns work closely with a supervisor which means you essentially have two therapists for the “price” of one.

Working with a student Intern is like being able to work with multiple providers simultaneously! Interns receive required weekly clinical supervision from our licensed clinical intern supervisor Taryn Zweygardt, LSCSW, PMH-C. Supervisors are specially trained, licensed therapists. Additionally, interns are under the supervision of professors in their graduate programs. Everything discussed between an intern and supervisor remains confidential; you can be assured of your privacy.
Our interns also attend regular consultations with members of the Flourish team. Consultations involve getting feedback from peers about one’s work with individual clients. This collaboration allows exposure to many different therapeutic styles & techniques which translates to YOU having a provider who is able to meet your concerns from a variety of professional, clinical lenses! No identifying information about a client is shared during consultations.
Interns are also still students, which means that the latest clinical research is woven into their graduate curricula, beneficially informing their direct work with you during therapy sessions.

Working with a student Intern allows for much financial flexibility. Insurance companies are not able to reimburse interns for services. This means that Flourish interns are able to schedule clients on a sliding scale or “reduced rate” basis. Working with an intern is an excellent choice if your circumstances require low cost therapy services.
Flourish Wellness Collective believes that finances should never be a barrier to getting exceptional counseling services. Hosting student interns plays a huge role in Flourish Wellness Collective being able to welcome clients to the practice who are uninsured or otherwise unable to budget for professional therapeutic support.
Working with an intern is also an excellent option for folks who do have insurance or do not want to submit a mental health claim through an insurance company.

Interns contract with Flourish Wellness Collective for a minimum of 6 months to one year of service. Once that contract is complete, the student may leave the practice. At that time, you will be offered services with another therapist if you wish to continue. You also may be able to continue with the intern if they remain with the practice. We can also provide referrals to therapists outside the practice if necessary.

Must be able to be in person weekly at our West Wichita office.
Be a self-starter, receptive to feedback, growth oriented and passionate about your work!
Must have liability insurance. Interns should either apply for insurance on their own behalf or ask their educational instituition if they are covered under their policy.
